Oregon ECJ Summit
April 17 @ 6:00 pm - April 18 @ 6:00 pm
Event Background: Oregon has faced many environmental injustices over the years, people of color, especially black and latinx people have had to disproportionately paid the price of lack of regulation. Furthermore, multiple studies show that these same People of color will be harmed the most by the effects of climate change as well. As a result we want to create a space to address these problems but also create mechanisms for creating solutions and avoiding these problems in the future.
Event objective: Through the bringing together of frontline communities, government officials and scholars we hope to create panels, workshops and creative solution tables where there will be professional facilitators, notetakers and organizers that can write down all the solutions discussed so that at the end of the event, the organizers and steering committee can put together an “Oregon Environmental Justice Report”
